Your inner critic can be the loudest stressor.

Notice it, name it, and let it go. 🕊️

When kids step away from parents emotionally, it’s never from wanting space but because they feel unaccepted in the parents’ world. Quoting my fav show - Stop being judgemental and start being curious.

Finally doing the thing everyone keeps asking for — a proper introduction! 👋🏽
I’m Dr. Sneha Sharma — psychiatrist, co-founder of Anvaya Healthcare, boy mom, serial plant killer (RIP to every succulent I’ve ever owned 🪴💀), and apparently someone who owns way too many books.
What you’ll find on this page:
✅ Science-backed mental health content
✅ Myth-busting the wellness industry’s favourite lies
❌ Toxic positivity
❌ Advice that sounds good but has zero evidence behind it
I’m here because mental health misinformation is everywhere — and you deserve better than that.

If you’ve been lurking, now’s a great time to say hi 👇🏽
What’s one mental health myth you’ve come across that you’d like me to bust?

The thing that doesn’t get said enough is this: harmful mental health advice rarely comes from bad people. It comes from well-meaning people who don’t know what they don’t know.
Sharing your story is powerful. Advocating for yourself is necessary. But telling someone else — someone whose diagnosis, history, and medications you know nothing about — to discontinue treatment? That’s not empowerment. That’s risk, dressed up as relatability.

Postpartum OCD is one of the most misunderstood — and misdiagnosed — perinatal mental health conditions. It’s not postpartum depression. It’s not “baby blues.” And it’s definitely not a sign that you’re a bad mother.
Here’s what it actually looks like 👇
✦ Intrusive thoughts about accidentally harming your baby (that you never want to act on)
✦ Compulsive checking — is she breathing? again. and again.
✦ Avoiding being alone with your baby out of fear
✦ Reassurance-seeking that never actually reassures
The cruelest irony? The more you love your baby, the louder these thoughts get. OCD latches onto what matters most to you.
You are not your thoughts. You are the person distressed by them — and that distinction changes everything.
If this resonates, save this and share it with someone who needs to hear it. 💙
As always, this is education — not a substitute for professional support.

Workplace mental health is often neglected aspect of mental health. The recent tragedy has shifted the focus on the poor workplace environment and deficiencies of the systems in place. It is high time that workplace stress is recognised, and adequate steps are taken to prevent negative mental health outcomes.
