A holistic approach to therapy through expressive arts, the flow of travel, the power of the natural environment and various psychological processes to balance the self. Before we begin, we would like to introduce you to Travel Therapy, a first of it’s kind effort at combining various elements of the psychological sciences with the power of the natural environment; introducing a holistic approach
to counselling and psychotherapy, enhancing the quality of life among participating clients. Travel Therapy involves the active removal of an individual from a stressful environment (home and/or work), and transport them to a new location where they may strive towards self-awareness, integration and well-being with the help of a psychologist. Travel Therapy includes myriad activities, including but not limited to physical activities to the use of psychological tests for deeper understanding of the individual. However, none of these activities are compulsory and you can choose to opt out of any activity, at any point, if you wish to do so. Each day will include an individual session (1 hour) of therapy with your assigned psychologist and a group session (1 hour) with the rest of the participants. The individual sessions will be focussed on client specific needs whereas the group sessions will utilize expressive arts therapy relating to music, dance, visual arts and writing activities. Moreover, additional activities such as beach trips, jungle walks, scuba diving, snorkeling and kayaking can be arranged depending on the destination you choose for Travel Therapy. While some of these activities are common to all participants, others might be used individually depending on the needs of the participant. Once the therapist and the participant have established rapport, the therapist may suggest psychological tests and activities to the participant particular to their personality. Needless to say, anonymity will always be of paramount importance; and strict confidentiality will be maintained by the core team at Soul Therapy. Additionally, we would also request you to participate as a research subject, whereby the information and data collected can be used in the future to establish the benefits of Travel Therapy in a research study so that more people may benefit from it. You will be given a participation number to ensure confidentiality and to allow you to withdraw data from any probable studies in the future anonymously. Travel Therapy will give you the opportunity to connect with your therapist on a personal level as well as meet and travel with people from different walks of life. Please understand that Travel Therapy, as with all branches of health sciences, comes with limitations. You will be provided with a bespoke itinerary once the booking has been made.
