Every patient can respond differently. For some, the first treatment works as expected. For others, the plan may need to change based on how the disease behaves and responds over time.

With tools like molecular testing and genomic profiling, oncologists can understand the cancer more closely and personalise treatment decisions where appropriate.

Sometimes the first treatment is the right one. Sometimes it is the first step in a longer treatment journey.

If you or someone you know has recently been diagnosed with cancer, speak with our oncology team to understand the treatment options better.

During cancer treatment, taste and smell can change significantly. Foods may start tasting metallic, bitter, too sweet, or bland, and even familiar smells can sometimes feel nauseating.

Instead of forcing regular meals, small adjustments can help. Cold foods, mild flavours, soups, curd, smoothies, and softer protein options may be easier to tolerate.

The goal is simple: help the body keep getting adequate nutrition through treatment.

Good nutrition is not just about what’s on the plate. It’s also about awareness, choices, and making healthy habits a little more engaging.

For Nutrition Week at Everhope, our team came together for a series of fun activities, conversations, and interactive challenges around food and nutrition.

A small reminder that learning about better nutrition can be simple, practical, and enjoyable too.

Here’s a glimpse of how we celebrated Nutrition Week at Everhope. 💚

Cancer treatment response is not judged by tumour size alone. Sometimes the goal is to slow the disease, keep it stable, or stop it from spreading.

After immunotherapy or radiation, swelling can also make a tumour look unchanged or even larger for some time.

That’s why oncologists also look at symptoms, blood markers, PET activity, scans, and the patient’s overall condition.

In cancer care, stable disease can also be a positive treatment response.

Not always. In many early-stage breast cancers, breast-conserving surgery can be a safe option when the tumour size, location, skin and ni**le involvement allow it.

In some cases, treatment given before surgery can also shrink the tumour and make breast preservation possible.

The decision between breast conservation and mastectomy should be made after proper evaluation and multidisciplinary discussion.

When eating feels difficult, staying hydrated can become especially important.

Fluids can help prevent dehydration and support energy, strength, and recovery during treatment. Even small, frequent sips can make a difference.

For many women, the worry before breast cancer surgery isn’t only about losing the breast. It’s also about whether the ni**le can be preserved.

In selected cases, ni**le-preserving surgery may be possible. The decision depends on where the tumour is located, whether the ni**le or surrounding skin is involved, and what the surgeon finds during the operation.

Sometimes, tissue from beneath the ni**le is tested during surgery to help determine whether it can be safely preserved.

The goal is not just to remove the cancer. It is to achieve the best cancer outcome while preserving as much of the breast as safely possible.

Two people can both have breast cancer and still need completely different treatments.

A treatment that works extremely well for one subtype may not be right for another. That’s why understanding the exact type of breast cancer is an important part of planning treatment.

So when you hear “breast cancer,” one of the first questions should be: Which type?
