మోకాలు అరిగిన వారు walking చెయ్యొచ్చా?
మోకాలు అరిగిన (knee osteoarthritis) వారు walking చేయవచ్చు—సరైన పరిమితిలో walking సాధారణంగా మంచిదే.
నొప్పి తక్కువగా ఉంటే రోజూ 20–30 నిమిషాలు, అవసరమైతే 2–3 sessions‌గా చేయవచ్చు.
మొదట flat surface మీద నడవడం మంచిది.
నడిచిన తర్వాత నొప్పి/వాపు గణనీయంగా పెరిగితే ఆపాలి.
అధిక నొప్పి ఉన్నప్పుడు long-distance walking నివారించాలి.
Quadriceps & hip strengthening exercises walkingతో పాటు చాలా ఉపయోగకరం.
Severe arthritisలో walking capacity తగ్గితే cane/walker లేదా ఇతర treatment options అవసరం కావచ్చు.

“ACL Tear కాదు! 😱 ఇది ACL Mucoid Degeneration!
👉 “మోకాలి నొప్పి ఉంది… కానీ ACL tear లేదు!”
ACL ligament లోపల మ్యూకాయిడ్ మార్పులు రావడం వల్ల ligament మందంగా మారుతుంది. దీనివల్ల knee pain, stiffness, ముఖ్యంగా knee పూర్తిగా straight చేయడంలో ఇబ్బంది ఉండొచ్చు.
వయసుతో వచ్చే మార్పులు, repeated microtrauma, chronic mechanical stress వంటి కారణాలు దీనికి దోహదపడవచ్చు. అయితే ప్రతి caseలో ఖచ్చితమైన కారణం తెలియకపోవచ్చు.
👉 MRIలో ACL abnormality కనిపించిందని వెంటనే ACL reconstruction అవసరం అని కాదు.
Symptoms + Clinical examination + MRI ఆధారంగా treatment నిర్ణయించాలి.
Mucoid degeneration causes myxoid/mucoid changes within the ACL, making the ligament appear thickened on MRI.
It may present with knee pain, stiffness and difficulty achieving full extension. Age-related degeneration, repetitive microtrauma and chronic mechanical stress may contribute, although the exact cause is not always clear.
👉 An abnormal-looking ACL on MRI does NOT automatically mean an ACL reconstruction is needed.
Treatment should be based on symptoms + clinical examination + MRI findings.
The exact cause is not always clear. It is generally thought to be related to degenerative changes within the ACL, rather than an acute complete ACL tear.
Possible contributing factors include:
Age-related degeneration
Chronic repetitive microtrauma / mechanical stress
Degenerative changes in the knee
Previous minor ACL injuries or trauma
Repeated knee loading and reduced joint space, which may contribute to mechanical impingement
Sometimes it is found incidentally on MRI without significant symptoms
