IUST Organizes AYUSH Medical Camp in Awantipora

Awantipora, August 27: Continuing its community health outreach, the Centre for AYUSH Science, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), organized a free medical camp at Aghanjipora, under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.

The beneficiaries mostly women received free consultations, health checkups, medicines, and guidance on preventive care. Medical experts addressed a range of common ailments, including joint pain, respiratory issues, digestive disorders, anaemia, and general fatigue.

Dr. Arsheed A. Ganaie, Coordinator of the Centre for AYUSH Science IUST, said such initiatives reflect IUST's dedication to delivering affordable, healthcare to underserved communities. "We are encouraged by the community’s response and remain committed to continuing such outreach", he further said. Local residents appreciated this initiative to promote traditional and alternative medicine systems for better public health outcomes.

Sirah Conference begins at IUST on , 22 October

IUST to Host Two-Day Int’l Conference on of Prophet Mohammad ﷺ

Awantipora, October 20: The International Centre for Spiritual Studies, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), is hosting a two-day International Conference titled “The Sīrah of Prophet Mohammad ﷺ on October 22 & 23. The conference aims to encourage dialogue and promote mutual respect among different religious traditions through the life and teachings of Prophet Mohammad ﷺ.

The conference will feature several distinguished scholars including the Honorary Director of K. A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Professor A. R. Kidwai, who will deliver the keynote address. Distinguished Visiting Professor at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Professor Jasser Auda, will have a special address during the conference. Professor M. Afzal Wani, Chairman of the Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi, will br the Chief Guest, and M***i Nazir Ahmad Qasmi, Shaykh al-Hadith at Darul Ulum Rahimiyyah in Bandipora, Kashmir, will be the Guest of Honour. Prof. Shakil A Romshoo, Vice-Chancellor IUST and Chief Patron of the conference will preside over the inaugural function. IUST’s strategic plan lays emphasis on creating a vibrant intellectual environment that fosters interdisciplinary research, dialogue, and a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives.

Professor G.N. Khaki, Director International Centre for Spiritual Studies, is the convenor of the conference. The Centre received a significant number of registrations for participation in the technical sessions, that include scholars from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi University, Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Hamdard, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Central University of Kashmir, and University of Kashmir. The conference being sponsored by a reputed local brand, Aarafh Foods & Spices, promises to be a significant academic and spiritual gathering, offering rich insights into the teachings of Prophet Mohammad ﷺ and their relevance in fostering interfaith harmony.
