World Breastfeeding Week 2026 | 1–7 August

As part of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, Mata Gujri College of Nursing and Mata Gujri Memorial GNM Nursing School organised a breastfeeding awareness programme in the Medical Ward to educate mothers and their families about the importance of breastfeeding.

The programme included interactive counselling and practical demonstrations on early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and proper breastfeeding techniques. Faculty members and nursing students actively engaged with participants, promoting evidence-based practices that support maternal and infant health.

In line with this year's theme, "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works," the initiative aimed to empower mothers with knowledge and encourage a supportive environment for successful breastfeeding.
