Conference: 13th Academia International Conclave
Organised by: Diabetes Care Foundation of India, Nagpur, and Diabetes Care n’ Research Centre
Dates: 19–21 June 2026
Venue: Hotel Centre Point, Nagpur
It was a privilege to moderate Flight No. 19: Workshop on Artificial Intelligence, held from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. as part of the National AI Workshop in Diabetes.
Along with Dr Alok Modi, I had the pleasure of navigating an engaging discussion with Dr Harsh Hirani, Dr Sanjib Medhi, Dr Sushil Patel and Dr Mohsin Aslam. The panel explored how AI is already influencing diabetes care, how far we can trust AI-driven insights, the myths and ethical concerns surrounding its use, and whether technology can truly bring better healthcare closer to those who need it most. What made the session memorable was not just the science, but the clarity, honesty and practical wisdom shared by every panellist. Congratulations to all of them for such thoughtful deliberations. A very special appreciation goes to Dr Alok Modi, widely regarded as the “AI Man of India,” for brilliantly conceptualising and drafting the entire programme. My heartfelt thanks to Dr Sunil Gupta and Dr Kavita Gupta for organising this remarkable conference year after year, and to Dr Shlok Gupta for the warm hospitality. Kudos to the entire team for creating a platform where science, innovation and meaningful dialogue came together so beautifully.
