Paracetamol is commonly used for fever and pain, while antibiotics are essential for treating certain bacterial infections. But taking these medicines unnecessarily, too frequently, or for prolonged periods can cause problems.
🔹 Long-term or excessive paracetamol use may increase the risk of liver injury, especially when the recommended dose is exceeded or combined with other paracetamol-containing medicines.
🔹 Unnecessary or prolonged antibiotic use can cause side effects such as diarrhoea, allergic reactions and disruption of normal gut bacteria—and can contribute to antibiotic resistance.
💊 Medicines should be taken at the right dose, for the right duration, and for the right indication. Never continue antibiotics on your own or exceed the recommended paracetamol dose.
