đŧ Breastmilk vs Formula â what are the actual facts?
âBreastmilk is bestâ â we hear this everywhere.
But what about parents who cannot breastfeed?
What about formula feeding?
Does formula have any drawbacks?
And can a baby have both breastmilk and formula?
There is a lot of confusionâand sometimes a lot of unnecessary guilt.
In this video, Dr Oici Chakroborty from Child World breaks down the facts about breastfeeding vs formula feeding in simple terms.
𤹠Breastmilk provides nutrition along with antibodies and other immune components that help protect babies from certain illnesses.
đŧ Infant formula can provide appropriate nutrition when breastfeeding isn't possible or when a family chooses formula.
But formula feeding also comes with important considerationsâespecially correct preparation, safe water, clean bottles and proper storage. Powdered formula is not guaranteed to be sterile, so preparation and hygiene matter.
And yes, combination feeding can also be an option.
The goal isn't to shame parents.
The goal is a well-nourished, safely fed and healthy baby. â¤ī¸
