Chennai Meeting Announcement

The Max Foundation and Friends of Max in association with Cancer Institute(WIA), Adyar, Chennai are organising a Support Group Meeting for CML and GIST patients and their caregivers on 31st October 2026 from 9am to 4pm in Chennai.

Request all patients in and around to attend and make the meeting a success.

Date: Saturday, 31st October 2026

Timing: 9.00 am to 4.00 pm

Annual World CML Day Meeting at NIMS, Hospital, Hyderabad

As part of our Annual World CML Day meetings, patients, caregivers, physicians, Friends of Max Trustees and City Chapter Leaders along with The Max Foundation India team members came together at NIMS Hospital, Hyderabad on 22 Sept 2026.

We are grateful to Dr. Sadashivudu and his team (Dr P Chandrasekhar Dean, Dr Mehar Lakshmi
Dr Rachana Chinnamaneni) for inviting us to be part of this important celebration and for their continued support of the CML community.

The meeting brought together over 70 patients with their caregivers, with nearly 115 members joining us.

One of the most profound part of the meeting was hearing patients share their experiences. There was a marked difference in the questions and discussions during the Q&A session this time. As patients progress through their treatment journey over the years, we noticed their experiences and concerns have evolved too.

For someone newly diagnosed, the questions usually focus on managing side effects, pregnancy-related concerns while on treatment or the possibility of treatment-free remission (TFR). For patients who have been on treatment for 15–20 years or more, as was the case in this meeting, the conversations were about a very different stage of their life, their children growing up, getting married and the many milestones they have experienced along the way.

This was a deeply positive change to witness. These conversations are a powerful reminder of how far patients have come and of the impact that can be achieved through a strong collaboration between patients, physicians and non-profit organisations.

A special shoutout to our Friends of Max Trustee, Pramod Agarwal, who chose this truly impactful way to celebrate his birthday, and a big thank you to all our City Chapter Leaders, Krishna Agarwal
Vicky Vatnani and Sailaja Kosuri who took time out of their busy schedules to join us and lend their support.

Your presence and commitment make these meetings truly special.
