Every child deserves the chance to be heard.
One of the most common questions parents ask after a Down Syndrome diagnosis is:
"Will my child be able to speak?"
The answer is often yes, but the journey may look different.
Children with Down Syndrome may take longer to develop speech and language skills due to factors like low muscle tone, hearing difficulties, and slower processing. That doesn't mean they cannot communicate. It means they may need extra support, patience, and the right guidance.
Early speech therapy, regular hearing evaluations, and communication-rich interactions at home can make a meaningful difference.
Progress may be slow at times, but every sound, word, and attempt to communicate is a step forward worth celebrating.
