Not all wins in physiotherapy are loud or dramatic.
Some are quiet, and they stay with you.
As a physiotherapist, what gives me the most satisfaction isn’t always the big recoveries. Most days, it’s the small milestones that matter the most.
A patient stepping out of the house and walking 100 meters without feeling breathless.
A person with corticobasal degeneration slowly opening their fist and holding something again.
A long-term bedridden patient finally walking independently.
Or someone with asthma saying they feel better simply because they’ve learned how to breathe properly.
These moments may look small, but for the patient, they mean freedom, confidence, and hope. Being part of this kind of progress, often slow and challenging, reminds me why I chose this profession. As my work continues to focus more on breathing and lung health, it feels even more meaningful.
Truly grateful to do what I do.
Proud to be a physiotherapist.
