Sometimes, the hardest part of healing is accepting that you cannot rush it.
You may understand what happened, know what you need to change, and still find yourself reacting to old situations in familiar ways. That is normal. Healing often happens quietly, through the way you begin to respond differently, choose yourself more consciously, set healthier boundaries, and stop carrying what was never yours to carry.
True emotional healing is not about forgetting the past. It is about reaching a point where the past no longer controls your present.
And sometimes, you do not realise how much you have healed until something that once disturbed your peace simply does not have the same power over you anymore.
Healing changes the way you relate to yourself, your emotions, your relationships and your life.
If you are on this journey, give yourself the time and compassion it deserves.
