🕉️ Guru means one who dispels darkness and leads us towards light. In life, a Guru is not only a teacher who gives knowledge, but someone who helps us see ourselves more clearly, guiding us from ignorance towards awareness, wisdom, and inner transformation.

Guru Purnima is a sacred day dedicated to honouring the Guru and the wisdom received from teachers and spiritual guides. It is celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Hindu month of Ashadha. The full moon symbolises the light of wisdom that dispels the darkness of ignorance.

In yoga and spirituality, it is also a day to express gratitude to our Gurus, teachers, and the inner Guru within us ✨

Why is Guru Purnima celebrated on the Full Moon ? 🌕

Guru Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day of the month of Ashadha because the full moon symbolises completeness, clarity and illumination ✨

Just as the full moon lights up the darkness of the night, the Guru is believed to illuminate the darkness of ignorance through knowledge and wisdom🕉️

The full moon also represents the fullness of knowledge making it a meaningful day to honour our Gurus, teachers and spiritual guides who help us move from darkness towards light.

On this full moon, we bow with gratitude to all those who have guided us on the path of wisdom.

Yoga Asana is often seen as a way to stretch the body, improve flexibility, or build strength. But in the traditional yogic path, these are only the beginning.

Every posture is an opportunity to observe the breath, calm the mind, and develop awareness. As the body becomes steady, the mind gradually follows. This is where the real practice begins.

Asana is not about achieving the perfect shape it is about cultivating presence, balance, and an inner connection.

Many people dream of becoming a yoga teacher but believe they are not flexible enough.

Firstly The truth is that yoga is not a competition of advanced poses. It is a lifelong practice of awareness, discipline, and self-discovery.

As teachers, our role is not to impress students with difficult postures. Our role is to help them practice safely, adapt to their unique bodies, and experience the deeper meaning of yoga.

You don’t need to be the most flexible person in the room you need to be the most present.

There is no “easy” or “advanced” posture in yoga only different expressions of the same journey. The true practice lies not in how complex the shape appears, but in how deeply we connect with breath, body, and mind within it.

✨ The depth of an asana is not measured by flexibility, but by consciousness.
