Focused on Enhancing Paramedical Skills....

On 12th July, Thousand Sayantan celebrated Sayantan's birthday. With the cooperation of Itkhola Athletic Club and Silchar Tata Cancer Hospital, Thousand Sayantan organized a free Health Camp and a Valuable Round Table Panel Discussion on Topic : Enhancing Paramedical Skills. Vanue : Itkhola Athletic Club Premises Silchar.

We believe that along with Specialist Doctors, Skilled Nurses , Skilled Technicians , and Accurate Lab Reports are also very essential for providing Quality Medical Services. For this, regular and continuous training workshops are needed to enhance the skills of Nurses, Technicians, and all Staff involved in HealthCare Services.

Therefore, on Sayantan's birthday, the Thousand Sayantani organized a panel discussion with owners and representatives of various hospitals, nursing homes, and diagnostic centers associated with healthcare services in Silchar, eminent doctors present at the health camp, and some distinguished citizens of Silchar.

Among the distinguished people who participated in the health camp and discussion meeting were eminent Neurosurgeon Dr. Sachui Rongmai, Pediatric Surgeon Dr. Souradeep De, Medicine Specialist Dr. Aparajita Chakraborty, and Dr. Manojit Banik from the Silchar Tata Cancer Hospital. Other prominent attendees included Mr Rudra Gupta, Dr. Ranabir Pal, Mr Abhrajit Chakraborty, Mr Vivek Poddar, Mr Rupak Chakraborty, Mr Soubhik Majumdar, Mr Srikanta Bhattacharya, and others.

Also present at the health camp were Nephrology Specialist Dr. Anirban Sinha and the experienced team from Silchar Tata Cancer Hospital. Other distinguished guests at the birthday event included Mr Deepan Dewanjee, Mr Pulak Deb, and others. Free medicines were distributed at the health camp. Members from various NGOs were also present to make the birthday event a success.

On Sayantan's birthday, Thousand Sayantan demanded the Creation of CARDIAC BYPASS SURGERY facilities at SMCH , and the Start of DM and M.Ch courses at SMCH and the Start of Emergency Medicine Course . We also appealed to All Government and Private Health Institutions and Diagnostic Centres in Silchar and Barak to take up regular and continuous Skill Development Training Programs for Nurses, Technicians, and all Staff involved in HealthCare Services.

Another point that came up from the discussion that day was:

Since the Periphery of HealthCare Services in Silchar is increasing day by day, it would be good if a Good Digital Health Magazine or Health Bulletin is published in Silchar.
It would include detailed information with pictures / videos about various complex and successful treatments.
By reading it, people will know what work is being done now, and it may also help build confidence among people.

At night, Sayantan's friends celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake at Sayantan's house.

Former Principal of Silchar Medical College, Dr. Babul Bezbaruah, sent a congratulatory audio message to Thousand Sayantan for their future journey. Sayantan's team played the message at the beginning of the discussion meeting in front of everyone present.

After discussing with prominent doctors of this valley, we believe there is an acute crisis of nurses, technical staff and lab technician in Silchar for which doctors are suffering on a regular basis..

To begin with, we have planned a panel discussion involving doctors, hospital representatives, diagnostic centre management and prominent citizens of Silchar regarding how can we solve this burning issue moving forward.

The discussion to take place after the health camp on 12th July (Sunday) 1pm at Itkhola Athletic Club Building.

Dr.Bikram Dam is credited with initiating Full thickness and Lamellar corneal transplant in Mizoram and Southern Assam, In last 1 year he has done multiple corneal transplants including DMEK and Dsaek , with significant work in treatment of Corneal infections and complex Cataract and anterior segment diseases. His aim in future is working towards increasing awareness towards corneal donation and transplants as well as developing services for Visual aids for low vision patients.

Dr.Sunanda Nandi has started squint surgery for children and adults benefitting numerous individuals across the state , she also extensively works towards screening newborns for retinopathy of prematurity and being the only fellowship trained pediatric Ophthalmologist of the region wants to spread awareness about eye diseases in children which have become a endemic in this modern digital era.

During our periodic visit to SMCH and Tata Cancer Hospital, had an in-depth conversation regarding the infrastructure and various requirements with CO of Assam Cancer Care Foundation Maj Gen (Dr.) Jay Prakash Prasad and Superintendent of Silchar Cancer Center Shri Biswajit Ghosh.

Worth mentioning that patients are availing all basic laboratory tests such as MRI , CT-Scan,etc at Tata Cancer Hospital at minimum cost.
