The rainy season increases Vata, leading to body aches, stiffness, poor digestion, and frequent colds. These lesser-known Ayurvedic tips help prevent that:
1️⃣ Oil in Navel (Nabhi Taila) – Apply a few drops of warm sesame or castor oil in your belly button at night. It balances Vata, helps with digestion, and even supports hormonal health.
2️⃣ Dashamoola Tea – A traditional decoction that reduces inflammation, strengthens lungs, and relieves body pain.
Recipe: Boil 1 tsp of Dashamoola powder in 2 cups of water → reduce to half → strain and sip warm. Drink once a day, especially during evenings. (Optional - can add 20ml of cow milk/Coconut milk to above decoction with little mishri and a pinch of pepper)
3️⃣ Spices in Diet – Include ginger, turmeric, black pepper, hing (asafoetida), and cumin daily. These spices ignite digestion, reduce gas, and help fight infections.
4️⃣ Ajwain Fumigation – Light a few ajwain seeds on a charcoal piece or small diya. Inhale the smoke gently for a few seconds. It clears nasal congestion, kills airborne bacteria, and strengthens your sinuses.
5️⃣ Nasya for Nose – Apply 1 drop of warm sesame or Anu Taila in each nostril daily. This keeps your nose moist, improves breathing, and acts as a protective barrier against allergens and viruses.
Try one or two daily and feel how your body responds.
