A CSR Health Check-up Camp was organized at Pirawa village near Gokul Open Cast mines on 01/8/26 under the CSR initiative of WCL Umrer Area Hospital.
A total of 115 beneficiaries received medical consultation and treatment.
During the camp, Dr. Manan Thacker conducted an awareness session on TB (Tuberculosis) and Monsoon-related diseases, providing health education to the villagers.

**ORS Awareness Day Celebrated at Area Hospital, Umrer on 29th july **

A brief ORS Awareness Day programme was organized at Area Hospital, Umrer, to spread awareness about the importance of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) in preventing and managing dehydration caused by diarrhoeal diseases.

During the programme, Dr Niharika educated hospital staff , patients and their attendants on the correct preparation and use of ORS, emphasizing its vital role in reducing dehydration, especially among children, also highlighted the importance of maintaining proper hygiene, safe drinking water, and timely treatment to prevent diarrhoeal illnesses.
Session was concluded by insightful word from Dr.Kalpana Ramteke maam.

World Hepatitis Day Celebration at Area Hospital, Umrer
Date: 28th July 2026

Theme: "Hepatitis: Let's break it down,"

Emphasising the importance of including vaccination, safe injection practices, harm reduction, and, most importantly, testing and treatment within national health systems.

-Dr. Niharika elaborated on the significance of the theme and highlighted the need for early diagnosis and accessible treatment.
-Daulat brother spoke about the types, causes,signs and symptom’s and mode of spread of infection.
-Pharmacist Mr.Praveen provided brief yet insightful information regarding hepatitis prevention and control strategies and treatment options.
Session was concluded by insightful word from Dr.Kalpana Ramteke maam.

The program witnessed the active participation of all doctors, paramedical staff, patients, and their attendants. The event helped spread awareness and reinforced the importance of timely intervention and integrated healthcare services to eliminate hepatitis.

INTERNATIONAL MEN’S HEALTH WEEK

Under the able leadership of CMD Dr. Hemant Sharad Pandey Sir and the guidance and supervision of CMS I/C Dr. Shashi Sankar Sir, with the inspiration and motivation of AGM Dr. Avinash Prasad Sir, President, Ujjwala Mahila Samiti, Mrs. Rekha Prasad Madam, and the support of AMO Dr. Smita Jambhulkar Madam, an Awareness Session was conducted at the Officers' Club, Umrer Area on 25.06.2026 to mark the observance of International Men's Health Week (15th–21st June 2026). Officers, employees, and contractual employees participated enthusiastically in the programme.

Doctors from Area Hospital, Umrer delivered informative talks on key aspects of men's health:

• Dr. Ritesh Kale – Lifestyle Diseases and their Management through Diet Modification & Healthy Lifestyle Practices.
• Dr. Manan Thacker – Stress and its Management.
• Dr. Ganesh Adhav – Cancer Awareness and its Prevention.

During the concluding session, Mrs. Rekha Prasad Madam, President, Ujjwala Mahila Samiti, highlighted the importance of men's health and encouraged everyone to adopt healthy lifestyle practices and seek timely healthcare.

I/C GM (Operations), Shri Ravi Krishna Mohan Sir, motivated all participants to prioritize their health and emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance for overall well-being and harmony in both professional and family life.

The programme was gracefully hosted by Mr. Vaibhav Aparajit, while the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Anupama Kale Madam.

"BLOOD DONOR APPRECIATION CEREMONY"

Following the successful observance of World Blood Donor Day on 18.06.2026, a felicitation programme to appreciate the hospital staff members who voluntarily donated blood during the blood donation drive was conducted at the Area Hospital, Umrer on 20.06.2026.
AGM, Dr. Avinash Prasad sir, felicitated the donors with certificates and tokens of appreciation in recognition of their valuable contribution. " WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY "

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2026, themed "One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives.", a Mega Blood Donation Drive was organized at Area Hospital, Umrer on 18 June 2026 with support from GSK Blood Bank, Nagpur and Ujjwala Mahila Samiti , Umrer Area.

The program was hosted by DR. ANUPAMA KALE, Pathologist, Area Hospital Umrer. The event was attended by Dr. Avinash Prasad Sir AGM Umrer, Shri R B Verma Sir, GM (Operations), Ujjwala Mahila Samiti Adhyaksha Smt. Rekha Prasad Madam, Smt. Rekha Verma madam, members of Ujjwala Mahila Samiti and Members of Area Welfare committee.

Dr. Khandelwal from GSK Blood Bank delivered an informative talk on the importance of voluntary blood donation.

Despite adverse weather conditions, the camp received an overwhelming response, resulting in the collection of 102 units of blood. Leading by example, Smt. Rekha Prasad Madam ,Shri RB Verma Sir, GM (Operations), Shri Mohan Krishna Ravi Sir SAM Umrer, and members of Ujjwala Mahila Samiti also donated blood, inspiring many others to participate in this noble cause including an 57 year old , Spouse of an employee joining the noble cause.

The successful drive reflected the spirit of humanity and collective commitment towards saving lives.

*INTERNATIONAL MEN'S HEALTH WEEK 2026 CELEBRATION**

International Men’s Health Week 2026 was observed at Area Hospital, Umrer on 17th June 2026 at 3:00 PM with active participation of hospital staff.

The program commenced with an awareness session on various aspects of men's health.
1. *Mr. Bharat Baghel* Dresser delivered a talk on **Physical Fitness**, emphasizing the importance of regular exercise and an active lifestyle.
2. *Mr. Nitin Bodne* Pharmacist spoke on **Stress Management** and highlighted techniques to maintain mental well-being.
3. *Mr. Sandeep Kawate* ECG technician addressed the topic of **Healthy Heart**, focusing on preventive measures for cardiovascular diseases.
4. *Mr Daulat Meena* Nursing Officer delivered an informative session on **Lifestyle Diseases and Cancer**, creating awareness regarding early detection and prevention.

AMO *Dr. Smita Jambhular maam highlighted the **importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle among men** and encouraged regular health check-ups, balanced nutrition, physical activity, and stress management for overall well-being.

The program was effectively anchored by *Mr. Vaibhav Aparajit.* Pharmacist. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by *Dr. Ritesh Kale* , who expressed gratitude to all speakers and participants for making the program successful.
