Do you know the story behind the Virabhadrasana pose?

Once upon a time the great Lord Shiva, or the first yogi, struck with grief and rage due to his beloved wife’s demise, tore a lock of his matted hair and threw it to the ground. From this lock emerged Virabhadra, a fierce warrior with immense power. Shiva commanded Virabhadra to lead an army to Daksha’s yajna and destroy everything in sight, an order that Virabhadra followed through.

The Virabhadra pose represent the different stages of this story. It encourages resilience and teaches concentration and clarity. The pose helps strengthen the legs, thighs, and ankles improves core strength providing balance and stability.
