The answer is… it depends.

Many people ask me,
“Doctor, can’t we just do a filling or a root canal instead of removing it?”

The truth is, we always try to save a tooth whenever it has a good long-term future. But with wisdom teeth, it’s not just about treating the cavity or infection. We also have to consider its position, available space, ability to clean it, future prognosis, and your overall health before recommending the best option.

Sometimes saving it is the right decision.
Sometimes removing it is the wiser one.

Every wisdom tooth deserves an individual evaluation, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
