👀 … back in June/July when i told you that something *big* was happening? 👀 well, cat is now officially out of the bag - H and i are now company owners! 🤩 this whole thing has been such a pinch-me moment from start to finish, but long story short, we bought a company called back in July. the company was founded back in 2011 by an ICU nurse and a CRNA and specialises in teaching tailor-made courses on resuscitation for companies in healthcare, as well as first aid courses for non-healthcare companies. we also regularly host courses for the public, as well as diverse classes for healthcare professionals. 🚑

Haukur had been teaching for the previous owners for the past 2 years, so when we learned that they were interested in selling, we immediately knew that this was something we wanted to do. a few months later we signed the documents and now we’ve been running the company for the past 2 months - including throwing 7 classes for a total of 85 students! 📚

we have so many exciting things planned for the future so if you’re located in iceland, we’d absolutely love it if you gave our company IG a follow - that way you won’t miss a thing & we would love to see you in a class one day! 🥳

11 months since you were born, baby boy - which means that in just one month, you will turn 1.

i absolutely can’t believe it. savoring every single moment ♥️ being with you every day and watching you grow is by far the most important thing i could imagine doing in this season of life. so grateful for the opportunity to take a break from (paid) work to do so. ♥️

…and just like that, we’re up to double digits & i truly wasn’t ready 😩 how our sweet boy has already turned 10 months old is beyond me but here we are.

watching him evolve, learn & grow every day is such an honor and these days he’s picking up a new thing almost daily, it seems. he’s recently gotten two upper teeth, learned how to sign “more” (very useful for our little foodie 🙈😂) and we’ve started learning about body parts, with the nose being our current fave. i’ll ask where the nose is, and every time he lights up and points to mama’s nose, beaming with pride. 🌟👃🏼♥️

being your mama is the best, baby Þ!

3 years ago we were dancing the night away as husband & wife for the first time, tonight we’re on the couch at home, taking care of our little guy who has a fever, eating the best takeaway sushi money can buy.

we were going to go out to dinner tonight to celebrate - but as much as i hate seeing baby boy sick, i have to admit that this is better. the three of us together.

there is a whole new kind of love conveyed through nursing your sick child back to health together - taking turns rocking him when he cries, wiping his nose and drying his tears.

it’s not fancy but everything is right as it should be. we’re in the trenches & living the dream at the same time. ♥️

happy anniversary, baby. ily forever and the little family we’re building together is the most precious thing in the world to me. 🫶🏼 //

back home from our first family trip & reminiscing over photos already - what a dream. there is absolutely no feeling like seeing the world through your child’s eyes. ✨🤎

since this was our first time flying and traveling with a baby, we had no idea what to expect but what i did know was how i wanted it to feel like - i wanted it to feel *easier* than i expected it to be. easier than people tell you it is.

and it truly did. i’ll be sharing the practical steps we took to make that our reality soon, but i’m a huge believer in setting the vibe for your experience first - going into our first family trip fully expecting it to go well and be fun was the secret sauce.
