At the Reykjavík Birth Centre, we believe that the best care is built on both experience and evidence.
One of our core values has always been to connect research and clinical practice. As practicing midwives, we have the privilege of caring for women and families every day, while also contributing to research that helps us better understand birth, improve care, and advocate for evidence-based maternity services.
We are therefore excited to share that we have updated the English section of our website, where you can now easily access research published by our birth center midwives in peer-reviewed journals.
Our publications cover topics including:
🔹 Birth experiences
🔹 Obstetric interventions and birth outcomes
🔹 Maternity care for immigrant women
🔹 Physiological birth and much more
We believe that research should not remain on library shelves—it should inform practice, shape policy, and ultimately improve care for women and families.
