One question can change the direction of a conversation.
At the FAP pre-conference workshop at the ACBS World Conference in Lyon, France, Secara (an incredible ACL™ leader from Romania) and I demonstrated a live interaction for workshop participants.
I asked him:
"What are you hoping I'll ask you about, but I probably won't?"
It's a simple question that opens the door to something important—something a person is longing to share but isn't sure there's room for.
In therapy, questions like this can deepen trust and help clients feel more seen and known. But they don't belong only in the therapy room.
Try asking someone you care about.
You might be surprised by what you learn—and by what becomes possible when we create space for the conversations that matter most.
What question has helped you feel truly seen?
