Managing Lymphoedema in the Sun ☀️

High temperatures can increase swelling in your affected arm. Stay protected with these simple tips:
💧 Stay hydrated.
🧊 Keep cool: avoid direct sun and the hottest part of the day (11 a.m.–4 p.m.).
🧤 Wear your compression sleeve as prescribed, especially when active or travelling.
👕 Wear loose, lightweight clothing and avoid heavy shoulder bags on the affected side.
🧴 Protect your skin with SPF 30+, moisturiser, and avoid cuts, burns, and insect bites.
💪 Keep moving with gentle arm exercises, but avoid overheating and heavy lifting.
🛏️ Rest with your arm elevated if it feels heavy or swollen.

Seek medical attention immediately if you notice sudden swelling, redness, warmth.

Stay cool, stay protected, and enjoy summer safely!

Breast health is like a puzzle: every piece matters. 🧩

During the 17th Europa Donna Pan-European Conference, MEP Romana Jerković Kraljić shared a powerful message: prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, research, advocacy and policy are all connected. Only by bringing these pieces together we can improve outcomes for everyone.

Recognising 15 October as European Breast Health Day is an opportunity to strengthen awareness, encourage early detection, and keep breast health high on the European agenda.

Because every piece counts, and together, they create lasting change.

Ready for summer? Don’t forget to take your breast health with you. ☀️

Whether you’re packing your sunscreen, water bottle, hat and sunglasses, or planning your next adventure, make sure your health is part of your summer checklist too.

If you’re due for a mammogram or breast screening, take a moment before the holidays to schedule your appointment. A little reminder today can make a big difference tomorrow.

Whether you're heading to the beach, the mountains, or exploring a new city, don’t take a holiday from your breast health.

☀️ Breast cancer treatment can change how your skin reacts to the sun, and not just during chemo or radiotherapy, but for months or years afterward.

Photosensitivity from chemotherapy, sun-sensitive skin after radiotherapy, scars that can darken permanently in the sun, and a higher risk of melanoma in survivors: all good reasons to make sun protection part of your routine.

Swipe through for what to watch for and how to stay protected, at every stage. Your skin has been through a lot. A little extra care in the sun goes a long way, during treatment and for years after.

Europa Donna is here with you, every season. ☀️🎗️

What an unforgettable Pink Party 2026 💗🇨🇾

Organised by EUROPA DONNA CYPRUS, the evening brought together women in treatment, survivors, and women living with metastatic breast cancer for a powerful celebration of life, courage, and community.

From all across Cyprus, participants gathered (with free transport provided 🚍) and filled the room with pink, music, dancing, and so much shared strength.

Beyond the celebration, it was a space of connection, stories, laughter, and solidarity — a reminder that no one walks this journey alone 💞

A huge well done and heartfelt thank you to Europa Donna Cyprus for organising such a meaningful and important event, and for continuing to create spaces of care, visibility, and togetherness 💗

Breast cancer is frequently seen as a "women's disease." Yet every year, around 39,000 men are diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide.

For many men, the challenge is not only the diagnosis itself, but also the feeling of isolation that can come with it. When awareness campaigns, support groups, and public conversations and also treatment pathways are largely designed with women in mind, some men may struggle to recognise symptoms, seek help, or find spaces where they feel represented.

No one should feel that a disease is "not meant" to happen to them.

Breaking down stereotypes around health helps everyone. Greater awareness can lead to earlier diagnosis, better support, and a reminder that breast cancer does not discriminate by gender.

This Men's Health Week, let's make room for every voice affected by breast cancer.
