“So… when are you going to have a baby?”
It may seem like an innocent question, but for many women living with large fibroids, those words can be deeply painful.
Not every woman who appears pregnant is expecting a baby. Some are carrying large fibroids that can enlarge the uterus to the size of a 5-, 6-, or even 7-month pregnancy.
Behind the smile may be:
• Years of infertility
• Recurrent miscarriages
• Heavy menstrual bleeding
• Chronic pelvic pain
• Multiple surgeries
• Anxiety, embarrassment, and emotional distress
A simple question can unintentionally reopen wounds that no one else can see.
Let’s choose compassion over curiosity.
Instead of commenting on a woman’s body or asking when she’s having children, remember that everyone’s journey is different—and not every story is visible.
If you have heavy periods, pelvic pressure, increasing abdominal size, or have been told you have fibroids, don’t ignore the symptoms. Effective treatments are available, and you don’t have to suffer in silence.
Be kind. Be thoughtful. You never know what someone is carrying. ❤️
