Your body speaks in four letters: A, C, T, G —
the genetic alphabet that writes your entire blueprint.
🧠 DNA is code. RNA is the message.
🧬 And proteins — they’re the workers, the builders, the shapers of your body.
But here’s the key: Proteins are made of amino acids, and the order of those amino acids determines how the protein folds. And shape determines function.
A single mutation in the beta-globin gene —
GAG (glutamic acid) → GTG (valine) —
changes the amino acid, misfolds the hemoglobin protein… and suddenly, red blood cells bend into a sickle shape.
This is why sickle cell disease exists:
One wrong letter changes the whole structure.
That change blocks oxygen. It causes pain. It damages organs. All from a single molecular typo.
🧬 DNA → RNA → Protein → Shape → Function → Life.
Your genes are not your destiny, but they are your data. And knowledge of your genotype can save a life — maybe your own.
Let’s build awareness. Let’s choose wisely.
