Your Medication and Summer Heat โ๏ธ๐
Did you know that some medications can make it harder for your body to stay cool in hot weather?
Certain antidepressants, including Sertraline, Fluoxetine, Citalopram, Duloxetine, and Mirtazapine, may increase heat sensitivity and raise the risk of heat-related illnesses.
To stay safe this summer:
โข Drink plenty of water throughout the day
โข Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
โข Wear light, breathable clothing
โข Take breaks in cool or shaded areas
โข Never stop or change your medication without speaking to your doctor
If youโre unsure whether your medication may affect your bodyโs response to heat, speak with your healthcare provider.
