WHY DOES DRY SKIN AGE FASTER THAN OILY SKIN?
📌 Lack of moisture:
The most prominent characteristic of dry skin is the lack of moisture. Moisture and nourishment are crucial factors that contribute to a protective barrier for the skin, keeping it plump and reducing wrinkles. When the skin lacks moisture, wrinkles can form more quickly.
📌 Reduced elasticity:
Did you know that dry skin has much lower elasticity compared to other skin types due to the deficiency of essential components like fatty acids and hyaluronic acid? This reduced elasticity gradually decreases with age.
📌 Vulnerability to sun damage:
Dry skin lacks a natural oil layer that protects the skin from sunlight, unlike oily skin. This makes dry skin more susceptible to the harmful effects of sun exposure, leading to conditions like hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and a dull complexion.
📌 Skin flakiness:
Due to the lack of a moisturizing oil layer, dry skin is prone to flaking if not properly hydrated. Dry skin is sensitive and easily irritated by external factors, resulting in redness, itching, and flakiness.
