Helping Beyond Blood Donation — Beyond the Border.

DO YOU KNOW?

In 2015, when the devastating earthquake struck Nepal, Japan and the Japanese people stood beside us. Through donations, rescue and medical support, and reconstruction assistance, Japan gave hope to thousands of Nepalese people.

We have not forgotten that kindness. 🙏🇯🇵

Now, it is our turn to stand together and show our solidarity with the people of Kumamoto.

The Nepalese Blood Donors Association, Japan (NBDAJ) is organizing a fundraising campaign to support those affected by the Kumamoto earthquake.

🪙 Even one coin can carry love.
❤️ Every donation brings hope.
🤝 Together, small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

📅 Donation Period: August 8 – August 25
📍 Place: LALTIN NEPALI DINING, Naha, Okinawa

The collected donations will be delivered to organizations working to support people affected by the disaster in Kumamoto Prefecture.

From Okinawa to yamgata Ken – 山形県to donate blood and to encourage people to donate blood as part of the Blood Donation and Awareness Program in 47 Prefectures of Japan.

This time, I donated blood at Blood Donation Room Sakurambo in Yamagata Prefecture.

The staff members were very polite, kind, and welcoming throughout the entire donation process. Their warm support made the experience comfortable and enjoyable.

I also asked the staff about foreign blood donors. They told me that it is still very rare for foreigners to donate blood there. This reminded me once again that we need more awareness activities so that foreign residents in Japan feel comfortable, confident, and encouraged to donate blood.

During my visit, I also noticed that there were only a few young blood donors. Most of the donors were from older generations. Encouraging more young people to donate blood regularly is becoming increasingly important to ensure a stable blood supply for Japan in the future.

I gave the blood donors english questionnaires which our organization has translated.The staffs were very happy to receive it. They also game a unique shampoo which is used in summer.

During this trip, I had meaningful conversations with both my Japanese and Nepalese friends about blood donation in Japan. Every conversation helps spread awareness and encourages someone to become a future blood donor.
