We started Yokota Sakura Clinic with two goals in mind. First, to support Space-A patients and others in the Yokota-affiliated community who often fall through the cracks of the local Japanese healthcare system. Second — and this comes directly from my time as a fellow at the 374th Medical Group — to help address the gap in continuity of care for patients being transferred off-base. During my fellowship, I saw firsthand how difficult and dangerous these transfers can be, which is part of why I received the Commander’s Challenge Coin and the Trusted Care Hero Award. That experience never left me. We are currently in discussions about securing limited base access for emergency support, and if any of you have relevant connections or experience navigating this, we’d genuinely welcome your input.

🩺 New Service Coming Soon: Sleep Apnea Testing

We're excited to announce that Yokota Sakura Clinic will soon offer home sleep apnea testing for patients concerned about snoring, daytime sleepiness, or diagnosed/undiagnosed sleep apnea.

This convenient, at-home test can help identify sleep apnea without an overnight hospital stay. Full details on scheduling and pricing will be posted here shortly.

✅ Friday visits can be medication pickup only — faster, less waiting

🏃 Sports Physicals Now Available at Yokota Sakura Clinic

With fall sports season approaching, we're now offering Pre-Participation Physical Examinations (PPE) for student athletes in the Yokota community.

Our sports physicals use the standard AAP PPE-4 form accepted by DoDEA schools, conducted entirely in English by a board-certified physician.

What's included:
• Full medical history review
• Cardiovascular & respiratory assessment
• Musculoskeletal screening
• Vision check (Snellen)
• Clearance documentation ready same day

⏱ Appointment time: approx. 20–30 minutes

We are pleased to share that Yokota Sakura Clinic recently met with Tokyo West Tokushukai Hospital to discuss shared facility use for blood tests and imaging. 🏥
Representatives from the International Medical Support Office, Administration, Patient Liaison, Radiology, and the Laboratory all participated in the meeting, and we are encouraged by the positive discussions that took place. 😊
While the details are still being finalized, we are looking forward to establishing a smooth referral pathway between our clinic and Tokyo West Tokushukai Hospital to better serve our patients. Stay tuned for further updates! 🙌

Dr. Ryo Iguchi has been requested to host and es**rt a guest physician visiting from the UK for the annual congress (Japan Society of Anti-Aging Medicine). To support this international medical collaboration, clinic operations will be paused for the day.
