Unexpected dehydration in Yokohama... 😭 The culprits? Wine, humidity, and that trending medication 🍷🌡️💧
Day 4 of my amazing Yokohama trip! ⚓️
I took a quick 25-minute walk from Bashamichi to Minatomirai, enjoying the ocean breeze. I thought to myself, "It's not even that hot yet, right?"
But out of nowhere, my head got fuzzy and my heart started pounding... Classic signs of mild dehydration! 😢
The triggers?
1️⃣ I rarely drink, but the holiday mood got to me and I had wine 4 days in a row! 🍷
2️⃣ The Yokohama humidity is no joke compared to back home in Aomori! ☁️
But the biggest reason? I didn't feel thirsty at all.
Yep, it was the effect of Mounjaro.
While it suppresses appetite, it also completely blunted my natural urge to drink water. Add the diuretic effect of four days of alcohol, and my body was in a state of "hidden dehydration" without me even realizing it! 💦
Here is what I learned for traveling safely:
✅ Hydrate proactively: Drink water before you even feel thirsty!
✅ The Alcohol Rule: If you drink, make sure to drink twice as much water.
✅ Medication Awareness: Pay extra attention to your body's signals when on medication.
I'm feeling much better now after resting with some cold water and OS-1 (an oral rehydration solution), but please be careful out there and stay hydrated! 🚰✨
