Youth Empowerment Program Initiative

Youth Empowerment Program Initiative Where your dreams become aspirations and your aspirations become achievements—that is the YEPI's experience.

YEPI is a non-political and non-profit organization that Empowers youth and women with Business and Entrepreneurship in an effort to addresses unemployment, poverty and violent Extremism in the Coastal Region of Kenya. Since our founding, we haven’t wavered from our promise:

Our youths, along with a handful of other dedicated volunteers, started the organization in order to offer free training

in business skills accessible to our youths who are most at risk for unemployment and poverty: the orphaned, unskilled, disabled, single parents, and court-involved youth. A key assumption underlying YEPI’s work is that all individuals deserve the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential, regardless of disability, economic status, family circumstances or prior history. YEPI’s approach to offering training is within a context of supportive services that enable trainees to overcome typical barriers to achievement. We are YEPI, where curiosity finds inspiration; where selflessness becomes service; where small individual encourage others; where creativity and innovation open doors and change lives; and where diversity enriches us all.

W-GAP's major approach to building reputable entrepreneurs is by working with existing entrepreneurial platforms, and shaping them to fit the modern business environment. In a digital world, branding and market positioning is a vital point of approaching the market.

28/08/2026

This week on W-GAP, participants explored various approaches to marketing, and available untaped markets for their businesses. It was important to first establish their market standing, an approach that aims to bring clarity in their next steps in business.

25/08/2026

We were pleasured to have a team from SIEG Strategy Group facilitate todays W-GAP session. They exploited the participants' depths on implementing their ideas towards growth, and the long term effect in setting goals.
This session is designed to challenge the status quo, push beyond incremental growth, and rethink traditional approaches to business scale and strategy.

YEPI SEED Program-Turning Ideas into Reality

Yesterday, we held a Close-Out Assessment with Salim Mwezecha, an aspiring shoe-making entrepreneur, following his three weeks placement on experiential learning placements at sistartosistarsenterprise.

We’re grateful to Mariam Kadzo Katana for the mentorship and practical skills that equipped our entrepreneur with valuable knowledge in leadership, customer relations, stock management, networking, and more.

This is what SEED is about learning, doing, and growing.

Ready to turn your idea into a business?
