The County Government of Machakos, under the leadership of H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti, EGH, joins the global community in commemorating World Brain Tumor Day 2026 today.

This day aims to raise awareness about brain tumors, promote early diagnosis, and support individuals and families affected by the condition.

Brain tumors can affect people of all ages, and early detection and timely treatment can improve outcomes and save lives.

Residents are encouraged to seek medical attention if they experience persistent symptoms such as severe headaches, vision problems, seizures, balance difficulties, or unexplained changes in behavior.

Early assessment today, a better tomorrow. Together, let's raise awareness and support those affected by brain tumors. 🧠

Yesterday, H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti, EGH, commissioned the issuance of prosthetic limbs at Machakos County Referral Hospital, benefiting 68 individuals.Of the 68, 58 are residents of Machakos County and 10 from neighboring counties. The project is a partnership between the County Government of Machakos and SwissAbility.
The programme aims to improve mobility, restore independence, and renew hope for persons living with limb loss, enabling them to actively participate in social and economic activities.
A further 200 beneficiaries are expected to receive support in the next phase.Governor Wavinya Ndeti values these partnerships which helps in accelerating development in the County.
