After s*x, your body is more vulnerable to infections—especially urinary and va**nal infections. Here’s what to do right away:
• Urinate (p*e)
Helps flush out bacteria from the urinary tract and reduces the risk of UTIs
• Gently wash the external area
Use clean water and avoid putting soap inside the va**na (it is self-cleaning)
• Wipe front to back (for women)
Prevents bacteria from spreading to the va**na or urethra
• Stay hydrated
Drinking water helps your body flush out bacteria
• Change out of wet or dirty underwear
Keeps the area dry and reduces bacterial growth
• Avoid douching
It disrupts natural va**nal balance and can increase infection risk

If protection wasn’t used, consider testing for infections like Sexually transmitted infections if there’s any risk.

Oral s*x (licking the va**na) is generally lower risk than penetrative s*x, but it’s not risk-free. There are several infections that can be transmitted this way:

1. Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
• Herpes Simplex Virus
Can spread easily through oral–ge***al contact, especially if there are sores. Causes painful blisters.
• Human Papillomavirus
Can lead to ge***al warts or, in rare cases, throat cancers.
• Gonorrhea
Can infect the throat (oral gonorrhea), often with mild or no symptoms.
• Chlamydia
Less common in the throat but still possible.
• Syphilis
Can spread if there are sores present.
• Human Immunodeficiency Virus
Risk is very low, but possible if there are cuts in the mouth or bleeding.

2. Other Infections
• Candidiasis
Yeast can transfer, especially if one partner has an overgrowth.
• Bacterial Vaginosis
Not exactly an STI, but bacteria can be transferred and disrupt balance.

Important Risk Factors

Your risk increases if:
• There are cuts, sores, or bleeding gums in the mouth
• The partner has visible infections or symptoms
• No protection (like dental dams) is used
• Multiple partners or unknown s*xual history

How to Stay Safer
• Use dental dams or condoms cut open
• Avoid oral s*x if there are sores, infections, or menstruation (higher risk)
• Maintain good oral hygiene (but avoid brushing right before, as it can cause tiny cuts)
• Get regular STI testing
