Breathe easy again: Understanding your RESPIRATORY HEALTH

When your respiratory health is compromised, everyday tasks can feel like an uphill battle. At our TIBI BOTANICALS WELLNESS, we believe that understanding these common ailments is the first step toward choosing the right path to natural recovery and long-term vitality.

Respiratory disorders typically fall into three distinct physiological categories. Below, we examine how these conditions affect your lungs and airways, and explore how natural remedies can help restore optimal balance.

1. OBSTRUCTIVE LUNG DISEASES (Airway limitations)
These conditions make it incredibly difficult to fully exhale air due to narrowed, inflamed, or mucus-blocked bronchial tubes.
Common examples: Asthma, chronic bronchitis, and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
The Symptoms: Chest tightness, persistent heavy feeling in chest, wheezing during exhalation and frequent coughing.
The Natural Approach: We use targeted botanical therapies formulated with smooth-muscle relaxants and gentle expectorants to help clear deep-seated mucus and naturally widen your airways for smoother breathing.

2. RESTRICTIVE LUNG DISEASES (Volume limitations)
In this category, the problem isnโ€™t the airways, but the lungs tissues themselves. The lungs lose their elasticity or experience structural stiffening, preventing them from fully expanding to take enough oxygen.
Common Examples: Pulmonary fibrosis and Sarcoidosis.
The Symptoms: Severe, progressive shortness of breath (especially during simple physical activities) and a dry, persistent cough.
The Natural Approach: Our holistic protocol focuses on rich antioxidant blends and traditional tissue-supportive herbs designed to target cellular oxidative stress, protect lung tissue elasticity, and support overall vital capacity.

3. INFECTIOUS RESPIRATORY DISEASES (Microbial invasion)
These are acute or recurrent conditions caused by airborne viruses, bacteria, or seasonal pathogens affecting either your upper or lower respiratory tract.
Common examples: Common cold, sore throat, influenza, COVID-19, bronchitis, pneumonia and tuberculosis.
The symptoms: Sudden onset of fever, coughing up mucus, throat soreness, chest pain and wheezing, fatigue or weakness, shortness of breath and frequent respiratory infections.
The natural approach: We harness the power of time-tested, clinically studied botanical antibiotics and immune modulators. These traditional remedies work synergistically with your bodyโ€™s own pathogen-fighting defenses while bolstering your natural defenses.

GUT DISORDERS

Common Gut Issues

Many people today struggle with constant stomach upsets such as chronic pain and cramps, bloating, gas, diarrhea and constipation, heartburn or acid reflux, and ulcers or H. pylori infection.

What Happens Medically
Normally, digestion works through:
Stomach acid (hydrochloric acid) helping to break down food and serving as an important defense against swallowed microorganisms.
Digestive enzymes digesting proteins, fats and carbohydrates.
Stomach and intestinal motility moving food through the digestive tract.
Intestinal bacteria helping with digestion and maintaining a healthy gut environment.

Main Causes of Some Gut Disorders
1. Too Little or Too Much Stomach Acid
Too much stomach acid can contribute to irritation of the stomach lining and, in some situations, ulcers. Acid reflux and heartburn occur when stomach contents move back into the esophagus and irritate it.
Too little stomach acid can impair digestion and may allow food to remain in the stomach longer, contributing to bloating, fullness and gas. Low stomach acid can also be associated with symptoms that resemble heartburn or reflux, so heartburn does not always mean that a person has excessive stomach acid.
Low stomach acid can also reduce the stomach's natural protection against certain microorganisms and may contribute to bacterial overgrowth in the upper digestive tract.

2. Weak Stomach Motility (Delayed Gastric Emptying)
Weak or poorly coordinated stomach and intestinal contractions can slow the movement of food through the digestive tract.
This may result from problems affecting the muscles or the nerves that control digestion, including the enteric nervous system.
When food remains in the stomach for too long, it can cause early fullness, bloating, nausea, abdominal discomfort and sometimes reflux.

3. H. pylori Infection
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a specific type of bacterium that colonizes the stomach lining. It is different from intestinal bacterial overgrowth.
H. pylori can damage the stomach's protective lining and cause chronic gastritis and peptic ulcers.
Some people have no symptoms, while others may experience upper abdominal pain or burning, bloating, nausea, early fullness and indigestion.
Long-term H. pylori infection can increase the risk of certain stomach complications, including stomach cancer.

4. Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) occurs when excessive numbers of bacteria are present in the small intestine, where bacterial numbers are normally much lower than in the colon.
It is not the same as H. pylori infection. H. pylori primarily colonizes the stomach, while SIBO involves excessive bacterial growth in the small intestine.
SIBO can be associated with slow intestinal movement, anatomical abnormalities, or other conditions that interfere with normal movement through the small intestine.
Symptoms may include bloating, excessive gas, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea or constipation, and feeling excessively full after meals.

5. Food Intolerance and Food Allergy
Food intolerance happens when the body has difficulty digesting or processing certain foods or their components, such as lactose or certain fermentable carbohydrates.
Symptoms may include bloating, excessive gas, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation and sometimes digestive discomfort.
Food allergy occurs when the immune system mistakenly reacts to a food protein as harmful.
Symptoms can include itching, hives, swelling of the lips or face, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, wheezing or difficulty breathing.

6. Painkillers, Alcohol and Smoking
Frequent or prolonged use of certain painkillers, especially NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and diclofenac, can damage the protective lining of the stomach.
This can lead to gastritis, stomach or intestinal ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding.
Alcohol and smoking can also damage or weaken the protective mechanisms of the digestive tract and may worsen reflux and other stomach problems.
