My first interaction with caregiving was quite early on in life. My lovely grandma, God rest her soul, requested i stay with her after high-school so I could remind her to take medication. We lost her soon after and in retrospect, that experience, despite being short-lived prepared me for the raw and unfiltered reality of caregiving in Kenya.
A rather hush hush industry, which is informal and traditionally family-based. My career in social work opened my eyes to the struggle families endure to care for their people.Good news is, more have become open to hiring professional caregivers hence a positive shift in the growth of the industry.
However, with limited regulations and licensing, it not easy finding the right fit for your loved one. That's where we come in! Let's talk everything caregiving, the good the bad and the ugly. Engage us and let's build a community together ❤️
