Syphilis rash is a non-itchy skin eruption that usually occurs during secondary syphilis. It can appear as reddish-brown or dark spots and bumps on the body, including the palms and soles. Because it can mimic many other skin conditions, syphilis is known as "the great imitator." Early treatment with benzathine penicillin G is highly effective. Please contact health professional.

Secondary syphilis can mimic many skin conditions. In people with darker skin, the rash may appear dry and scaly like psoriasis. Bumps often cluster around the nose and mouth, resembling seborrheic dermatitis. In moist areas such as the groin, lesions may become soft, wart-like, and highly infectious. White patches can also develop inside the mouth and are contagious.

A painless sore like this may be a syphilis chancre, the first sign of syphilis. Many people ignore it because it can heal on its own.

If you have a suspicious sore, get tested for syphilis and HIV. Early diagnosis means early treatment.

Secondary syphilis is the second stage of Syphilis that occurs weeks to months after the initial sore heals. It is marked by a widespread rash (often on palms and soles), swollen lymph nodes, fever, and fatigue. It is highly infectious but easily treatable with antibiotics.

If you are suffering from this skin condition, it is likely called Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN).

This is a benign, genetic condition common in darker skin tones, featuring multiple small raised dark papules on the neck, face, and upper chest. It is not dangerous, not infectious, and does not require medical treatment for health reasons.

Advice: See a dermatologist to confirm and discuss cosmetic removal if the bumps affect your confidence. Professional treatments like cryotherapy, curettage, or laser work well but may need several sessions. Avoid home remedies or picking, which can cause scarring or infection. Use daily sunscreen and gentle skincare to support overall skin health.

If you are suffering from this skin condition, it is likely called Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN).

It is a common, **harmless, non-contagious** condition causing multiple small dark brown/black bumps, especially on the neck and face in darker skin tones. It is benign and requires no treatment unless cosmetically bothersome.

Advice: Consult a dermatologist for confirmation. If removal is desired, safe options include cryotherapy, electrocautery, or laser (performed by an experienced provider to minimize risks in darker skin). Do not pick at them.

This is not monkeypox (mpox) because the bumps are numerous, smooth, rounded, and skin-coloured, suggesting they have been present for a long time.

Mpox usually starts as flat spots that gradually develop into firm, painful, pus-filled bumps. These lesions often have a small dent in the centre and tend to appear at the same stage of development across the body.

In addition, most people with mpox develop symptoms such as fever, swollen lymph nodes, headache, body aches, and fatigue before or around the time the rash appears.

While a diagnosis cannot be made from a photograph alone, the appearance of these bumps is not typical of monkeypox.

This skin condition is a viral infection that causes small, smooth, dome-shaped bumps on the skin. It spreads through direct skin-to-skin contact or by sharing contaminated items such as towels and clothing. The bumps are usually painless but may become itchy, red, or inflamed as they heal. Although it often resolves on its own, medical treatment may be needed when lesions are widespread, persistent, or causing discomfort. It is not a sign of HIV.

Treatment of this condition depends on the severity of the condition. Common treatments include topical medications such as corticosteroids (e.g., hydrocortisone, clobetasol), vitamin D analogues (e.g., calcipotriol), and moisturisers. More severe cases may require methotrexate, cyclosporine, acitretin, or biologic medicines such as adalimumab and secukinumab.
Always consult a healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and treatment selection.
