๐Ÿšจ FRACTURED LEG โ€“ DON'T MAKE IT WORSE ๐Ÿฆด๐Ÿšจ
A broken leg can cause severe pain, bleeding, and further damage if handled incorrectly.

โš ๏ธ Signs of a fractured leg:
๐Ÿฆด Severe pain
๐Ÿฆต Swelling or bruising
๐Ÿ“ Deformity or abnormal position

๐Ÿšซ Difficulty or inability to walk
๐Ÿ˜– Tenderness at the injury site
โฑ๏ธ What to do immediately:

โœ”๏ธ Ensure scene safety
โœ”๏ธ Keep the injured leg still
โœ”๏ธ Support and immobilize the leg in the position found
โœ”๏ธ Apply a cold pack wrapped in cloth to reduce swelling
โœ”๏ธ Seek medical help immediately

๐Ÿšจ If trained:
โœ”๏ธ Use a splint to immobilize the joints above and below the fracture

๐Ÿšซ DO NOT:
โŒ Try to straighten the leg
โŒ Move the person unnecessarily
โŒ Allow the injured person to walk on the leg

๐Ÿ’ก Immobilization reduces pain and helps prevent further injury.

๐Ÿšจ RESCUE BREATH INTERVALS โ€“ KNOW THE DIFFERENCE ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿšจ
Rescue breathing is used when a person has a pulse but is not breathing normally.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿฆฐ Adults
โœ”๏ธ Give 1 rescue breath every 6 seconds
โœ”๏ธ About 10 breaths per minute
โœ”๏ธ Check pulse every 2 minutes

๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿง’ Infants & Children
โœ”๏ธ Give 1 rescue breath every 2โ€“3 seconds
โœ”๏ธ About 20โ€“30 breaths per minute
โœ”๏ธ Check pulse every 2 minutes

๐Ÿ’จ Each breath should:
โœ”๏ธ Last about 1 second
โœ”๏ธ Produce visible chest rise
โœ”๏ธ Avoid excessive ventilation

๐Ÿšจ If there is no pulse:
โœ”๏ธ Start CPR immediately
โœ”๏ธ Do not continue rescue breathing alone

๐Ÿšซ DO NOT:
โŒ Give breaths too fast
โŒ Give excessive volume
โŒ Interrupt care unnecessarily

๐Ÿ’ก Effective rescue breaths deliver oxygen while avoiding complications from over-ventilation.

๐Ÿšจ CARDIAC ARREST IN PREGNANCY โ€“ TWO LIVES DEPEND ON FAST ACTION โค๏ธ๐Ÿคฐ๐Ÿšจ
Cardiac arrest during pregnancy is rare but extremely serious.

Immediate, high-quality CPR is essential.
โš ๏ธ Signs of cardiac arrest:

โŒ Unresponsive
โŒ Not breathing normally or only gasping
โŒ No pulse

โฑ๏ธ What to do immediately:
โœ”๏ธ Ensure scene safety
โœ”๏ธ Call for emergency help and request an AED

โœ”๏ธ Start high-quality CPR without delay
โœ”๏ธ Push hard and fast in the center of the chest
โœ”๏ธ Use an AED as soon as available

๐Ÿคฐ Special consideration (advanced pregnancy):
โœ”๏ธ If the pregnancy is visibly advanced (about 20 weeks or more), manually displace the uterus to the left side if trained, or slightly tilt the patient to reduce pressure on major blood vessels while maintaining effective CPR.

โšก AED Use
โœ”๏ธ AEDs are safe to use during pregnancy
โœ”๏ธ Apply pads in the standard adult positions

๐Ÿšซ DO NOT:
โŒ Delay CPR because the patient is pregnant
โŒ Delay AED use
โŒ Stop compressions unnecessarily

๐Ÿ’ก The best way to help the baby is to provide effective CPR and restore circulation to the mother as quickly as possible.

๐Ÿšจ INFANT CHEST COMPRESSIONS โ€“ SMALL HANDS, BIG IMPACT ๐Ÿ‘ถโค๏ธ๐Ÿšจ

When an infant's heart stops beating effectively, high-quality chest compressions can help maintain blood flow to the brain and vital organs.

โš ๏ธ For infants (below 1 year):
โœ”๏ธ Place the baby on a firm, flat surface
โœ”๏ธ Compress the center of the chest just below the ni**le line

๐Ÿ‘ถ Single Rescuer Technique
โœ”๏ธ Use 2 fingers in the center of the chest
โœ”๏ธ Compress about 1/3 the depth of the chest (โ‰ˆ4 cm / 1.5 inches)

๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ Two-Rescuer Technique (Preferred)
โœ”๏ธ Use the two-thumb encircling technique
โœ”๏ธ Place both thumbs side-by-side on the center of the chest

โœ”๏ธ Encircle the chest with your hands to support the back
โฑ๏ธ Compression Rate
โœ”๏ธ 100โ€“120 compressions per minute

โœ”๏ธ Allow full chest recoil after each compression
โœ”๏ธ Minimize interruptions
๐Ÿ’จ Compression-to-Breath Ratio

โœ”๏ธ Single rescuer: 30 compressions : 2 breaths
โœ”๏ธ Two rescuers: 15 compressions : 2 breaths
๐Ÿšซ DO NOT:

โŒ Use adult force
โŒ Compress too shallow or too deep
โŒ Interrupt compressions unnecessarily

๐Ÿ’ก Effective chest compressions can be the difference between life and death.

๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ Difficulty breathing
๐Ÿ˜ต Dizziness or collapse
๐Ÿ‘„ Swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat

โšก Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
โฑ๏ธ What to do:
โœ”๏ธ Move away from the insect source

โœ”๏ธ Wash the area with clean water and soap
โœ”๏ธ Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling
โœ”๏ธ Monitor for worsening symptoms
โœ”๏ธ Seek medical help if severe reactions occur

๐Ÿšซ DO NOT:
โŒ Scratch the bite excessively
โŒ Apply unknown substances to the skin
โŒ Ignore signs of a severe allergic reaction

๐Ÿ’ก Most insect bites heal quickly, but always watch for signs of allergy or infection.

๐Ÿšจ BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) โ€“ THE POWER TO SAVE A LIFE ๐Ÿšจ
When a person suddenly collapses, the first few minutes are critical. Basic Life Support (BLS) helps maintain blood circulation and oxygen delivery until advanced care arrives.

โš ๏ธ The BLS Approach:
โœ”๏ธ Ensure scene safety
โœ”๏ธ Check responsiveness

โœ”๏ธ Activate emergency response
โœ”๏ธ Check breathing and pulse (within 10 seconds)
โœ”๏ธ Start high-quality CPR if needed
โœ”๏ธ Use an AED as soon as available

โค๏ธ High-Quality CPR Matters
โœ”๏ธ Push hard and fast
โœ”๏ธ Rate: 100โ€“120 compressions per minute
โœ”๏ธ Allow full chest recoil
โœ”๏ธ Minimize interruptions

โšก Early AED Use
โœ”๏ธ Turn it on immediately
โœ”๏ธ Follow the voice prompts
โœ”๏ธ Resume CPR after shock delivery or as instructed

๐Ÿ’ก The Chain of Survival:
๐Ÿ”— Early recognition
๐Ÿ”— Early CPR
๐Ÿ”— Early defibrillation
๐Ÿ”— Advanced medical care

๐Ÿšซ DO NOT:
โŒ Delay CPR
โŒ Stop compressions unnecessarily

๐Ÿšจ HOW TO CHECK AN AIRWAY โ€“ A LIFE-SAVING SKILL ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿšจ
Before checking breathing, you must first ensure the airway is open and clear.

โฑ๏ธ Step 1: Ensure Scene Safety
โœ”๏ธ Make sure there are no dangers to you, the victim, or bystanders.
โฑ๏ธ Step 2: Check Responsiveness

โœ”๏ธ Tap and shout: โ€œAre you okay?โ€
โœ”๏ธ If there is no response, call for help.
โฑ๏ธ Step 3: Open the Airway
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿฆฐ๐Ÿง’ Adults & Children

โœ”๏ธ Place one hand on the forehead
โœ”๏ธ Place two fingers under the chin
โœ”๏ธ Gently tilt the head back and lift the chin (Head Tilt-Chin Lift)

โš ๏ธ If neck or spinal injury is suspected:
โœ”๏ธ Use a Jaw Thrust Maneuver if trained
โœ”๏ธ Minimize head movement
๐Ÿ‘ถ Infants

โœ”๏ธ Keep the head in a neutral "sniffing" position
โœ”๏ธ Avoid excessive head tilt, which can block the airway

โฑ๏ธ Step 4: Look for Obstructions
โœ”๏ธ Check the mouth for visible objects
โœ”๏ธ Remove only if clearly seen and easily reachable

๐Ÿšซ DO NOT:
โŒ Perform blind finger sweeps
โŒ Push objects deeper into the airway

โฑ๏ธ Step 5: Check Breathing (No More Than 10 Seconds)
โœ”๏ธ Look for chest rise and fall
โœ”๏ธ Listen for breathing sounds
โœ”๏ธ Feel for air on your cheek

๐Ÿšจ If breathing is absent or only gasping:
โœ”๏ธ Activate emergency response
โœ”๏ธ Start CPR immediately
โœ”๏ธ Use an AED as soon as available

๐Ÿ’ก Airway โ†’ Breathing โ†’ CPR. An open airway is the first step toward saving a life.

๐Ÿšจ HEART ATTACK vs CARDIAC ARREST โ€“ KNOW THE DIFFERENCE* โค๏ธ๐Ÿšจ
Many people use these terms interchangeably, but they are not the same.

โค๏ธ HEART ATTACK ๐Ÿ‘‰ A circulation problem caused by blocked blood flow to part of the heart.
โš ๏ธ Signs:

๐Ÿ’” Chest pain or pressure
๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ Shortness of breath
๐Ÿคข Nausea

๐Ÿ˜“ Sweating
๐Ÿ’ช Pain spreading to the arm, jaw, or back
โœ”๏ธ The person is usually awake and breathing.

โšก CARDIAC ARREST ๐Ÿ‘‰ An electrical problem where the heart suddenly stops pumping blood effectively.
โš ๏ธ Signs:

โŒ Sudden collapse
โŒ Unresponsive
โŒ Not breathing normally or only gasping

โŒ No pulse
๐Ÿšจ This is a medical emergency requiring immediate CPR and AED use.

๐Ÿ’ก Simple way to remember: โค๏ธ Heart Attack = Heart still beating, but blood flow is blocked. โšก Cardiac Arrest = Heart stops pumping effectively.

โฑ๏ธ A heart attack can sometimes lead to cardiac arrest if not treated quickly.
