🗣️ At OrbRom Learning Support Center, our Speech-Language Pathologists use interactive tools such as audio books to make learning more engaging and meaningful for children.

This interactive audio book introduces useful everyday phrases such as “Thank you,” “I don’t like this,” “Let’s do it again,” and “Slow down.” Children can listen to the phrases, connect them with pictures, repeat them, and practise using them in appropriate situations.

When incorporated into speech and language therapy, technology can support:

• Listening and attention
• Understanding everyday language
• Learning and practising new phrases
• Pronunciation and verbal expression
• Confidence in social communication
• Using language in real-life situations

Technology does not replace the interaction between the child and the therapist. It provides another engaging way to practise communication skills through repetition, visual support, sound, and play.

The Important Role of Teacher Assistants at OrbRom

At OrbRom Learning Support Center, Teacher Assistants are not simply an extra pair of hands in the classroom. They are an essential part of how we provide individualized, responsive support to every child.

Many children learn best when an adult is close enough to notice when they need additional guidance, help them remain engaged, adapt an activity, support communication, or provide encouragement at exactly the right moment.

This is why we maintain a very high level of classroom support. At OrbRom, we have approximately 1 Teacher Assistant for every 1.5 students.

This strong ratio allows our team to:

Provide individualized support throughout the school day.
Reinforce communication, social, academic, and independence goals.
Help children participate successfully in classroom activities.
Respond quickly when a child needs additional regulation or sensory support.
Work alongside our Special Education Teachers and therapists to implement each child's learning strategies consistently.
Encourage independence by providing the right amount of support, not simply doing things for the child.

Our Teacher Assistants spend significant time with our students. They learn their communication styles, recognize their strengths and challenges, celebrate their progress, and help turn therapeutic and educational goals into skills that can be used in everyday life.

Small ratios matter. Consistency matters. And skilled Teacher Assistants make a significant difference.

At OrbRom Learning Support Center, our Speech Therapy sessions are individualized, engaging, and built around each child’s communication needs. Through play and structured activities, our Speech-Language Therapists support children in developing:
