We are pleased to welcome 🌸 Saona M Siddiq to the OrbRom Learning Support Center team as our new Occupational Therapist.

Saona holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Manipal College of Health Professions (MAHE), Manipal, graduating with a CGPA of 8.2.

Her academic training is further strengthened by research exploring technology-based interventions that enhance self-help skill development in children with cerebral palsy.

She brings hands-on pediatric clinical experience, working with children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental challenges. Saona is experienced in conducting standardized assessments, developing individualized therapy plans, and applying evidence-based frameworks including sensory integration and developmental approaches.

Her work emphasizes functional outcomes, supporting children in developing independence, improving regulation, and building the foundational skills needed for school and daily life. She also values close collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent and meaningful progress.

At OrbRom, we continue to strengthen our commitment to high-quality, evidence-based intervention, and Saona’s addition further enhances our ability to support children and families across Phnom Penh.

We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the positive impact she will bring to our community.

At OrbRom Learning Support Center, occupational therapy is about helping children develop the skills they need to participate confidently in everyday activities, both in school and in life.

Our sensory gym provides a safe and engaging environment where children can work on essential developmental skills such as balance, coordination, body awareness, and motor planning. Through structured obstacle courses, climbing activities, swings, and sensory-based play, therapists support children in strengthening their gross motor abilities while also improving attention, regulation, and confidence.

These activities may look like play, but each movement is carefully designed by occupational therapists to support important developmental goals. For many children, especially those who experience sensory processing differences or motor coordination challenges, these experiences are essential for building independence and success in the classroom.

In occupational therapy sessions, children practice skills such as:
• Balance and postural control
• Bilateral coordination
• Motor planning and sequencing
• Sensory regulation
• Confidence in physical movement

By combining therapy expertise with a thoughtfully designed sensory environment, children are given the opportunity to explore movement, challenge themselves safely, and celebrate their progress.

Every small step, whether walking across a balance beam, navigating an obstacle course, or climbing with confidence—represents meaningful growth.

Occupational therapy helps children build the foundation for participation, independence, and lifelong learning.

🧠 In occupational therapy, progress is built through trust, consistency, and purposeful movement. Activities like balance and core-strength work are not just physical exercises, they support attention, regulation, coordination, and confidence in everyday learning environments.

What may look simple on the surface is often a carefully planned intervention, tailored to help a child develop the foundational skills they need to participate, learn, and thrive.

Proud of the dedicated therapists who turn structured play into meaningful progress, one session at a time.
