AUGUST 2026 NCC FACEBOOK SERIES

Theme: Living With What You Didn’t Choose

Focus: Grief, Loss & Life Transitions

WEEK 1 — UNDERSTANDING GRIEF BEYOND DEATH

Theme: Grief Beyond Death

Focus: Recognizing Hidden Losses | Validating Emotional Pain | Naming Grief Beyond Bereavement

AUGUST 5 — "Grief Is Not Only About Losing Someone"

From the Therapist's Chair:

When we hear the word grief, many people immediately think about death.

But grief can also come from losing a relationship, a dream, a sense of security, good health, a job, or the future we imagined for ourselves.

Some losses are visible. Others happen quietly inside the heart.

If something important in your life has changed, it is okay to acknowledge that it hurts.

Your grief is valid, even if others do not see the loss.

NCC reminds you: Every loss deserves compassion.

Reflection Question:

What loss in your life have you been carrying quietly, without giving yourself permission to grieve?

Take a moment to consider how acknowledging that loss—not minimizing it—might be the first step toward healing.

End of Post Encouragement:

Whatever your loss may be, know that your feelings are valid. You deserve the same compassion you would offer someone else. Healing begins when we allow ourselves to recognize our pain with kindness rather than judgment.

Quote:
"Grief is not only about who we lose. It is also about what we hoped would be."

WEEK 5 — MID-YEAR RESET & GENTLE CLOSING

Theme: Releasing, Reflecting & Rebuilding Gently
Focus: Rest Without Guilt | Letting Go of Pressure & Making Space for Renewal

JULY 31 — "Before you rush into the next chapter, take time to appreciate how far you have come."

From the Therapist’s Chair:
As July comes to an end, take a moment to reflect on the journey so far.

The first half of the year may have brought challenges, unexpected changes, disappointments, and moments of growth. Yet, you are still here.

Closing a chapter does not mean everything is complete. It means you have an opportunity to carry forward the wisdom gained and approach the next season with greater compassion for yourself.

Reflection Question:
What is one thing you are proud of yourself for making it through this year?

End of Post Encouragement:
Celebrate your progress. Honour your journey. Continue moving forward gently.

Theme: Releasing, Reflecting & Rebuilding Gently
Focus: Rest Without Guilt | Letting Go of Pressure & Making Space for Renewal

JULY 30 — "A slower pace does not mean you are falling behind."

From the Therapist’s Chair:
In a world that often celebrates being busy, slowing down can feel uncomfortable.

However, constantly pushing ourselves without rest can lead to emotional exhaustion, frustration, and burnout.

A slower pace allows us to be more present, make thoughtful decisions, and care for ourselves along the way.

Your journey does not have to look like someone else’s journey.

Reflection Question:
Where can you give yourself permission to slow down?

End of Post Encouragement:
Your value is not measured by how much you accomplish. You are worthy even when you pause.

JULY 29 — "Letting go is not giving up. It is making room for what truly matters."

From the Therapist’s Chair:
Sometimes moving forward requires us to release what has been weighing us down.

This may include unrealistic expectations, old fears, unhealthy habits, constant comparison, or the belief that we must always be strong.

Letting go does not erase your experiences. It allows you to carry your lessons forward without carrying the burden of everything that came before.

Reflection Question:
What is one thing you are ready to release to create more peace in your life?

End of Post Encouragement:
You are allowed to make space for peace, healing, and new possibilities.
