Eurotium cristatum Surrounded by Aspergillus niger

■ The microbial world also has weight classes. In the attached microscope photo, a cluster of yellow Eurotium cristatum is visible in the center.

However, you can see Aspergillus niger pushing up from below, with round, bead-like sporangia.

In other words, their weight classes—or capabilities—are different.

If Aspergillus niger is the heavyweight class among fungi, you can consider Goldenrod to be the flyweight class.

As the title match—the battle—begins, the yellow hyphae, the spore sacs, and Eurotium cristatum are being driven into a corner.

No, surrounded on all sides by Aspergillus niger, Eurotium cristatum will now lose its presence. The outcome is obvious. ^^ ~

Even in the microbial world, there is a natural ecosystem called survival of the fittest, depending on the given conditions.

I photographed Aspergillus niger grown in post-fermented tea under a microscope.

Although the black color appears faded due to the reflection of light, it is indeed black mold.

Because their growth rates vary, the appearance of the spores, which resemble clusters of large and small clusters, is unique.

Numerous spores are gathered together.

As time passes and they mature, these microscopic spores will scatter in all directions.

Golden Fungus

I observed under a microscope the formation of golden sporangia and the mycelium supplying nutrients.

The mycelium multiplies rapidly, providing nutrients to the sporangia through a pipeline called the hyphae.

It is as if the hyphae act as an umbilical cord for the sporangia.

It is beautiful.
