Research in child psychology shows that children open up more through specific, emotionally safe questions than through broad questions like “How was your day?”

Bullying isn’t caused by one trait in a child.

But research does show patterns: children who are more socially withdrawn, less assertive, or struggling with peer relationships may be at higher risk of being targeted.. not because they’re “the problem,” but because bullying is a group dynamic that scans for vulnerability.

The real work is not changing your child to “fit in,” but strengthening their sense of safety, voice, and connection so they know: I can speak up, I can get help, I can take up space.

Emotional regulation is not built through fear, shame, or isolation.
It is built through connection, co-regulation, language, safety, and repetition.
Children borrow our nervous systems before they build their own.

Every boundary around screens is really a boundary around the nervous system.
Because screens are designed to pull attention, numb boredom, and quiet big feelings fast. So your kids will react. But it’s ok if they do!

The biggest shifts in parenting aren’t loud.

They’re repeated moments where we choose control over connection.

And it makes sense.. when we’re overwhelmed, we want behavior to stop now!

But children aren’t problems to fix, they’re experiences to understand. 🤍

Connection doesn’t mean permissiveness. You can still hold a boundary and be warm. You can still understand them and hold your boundary..

A message from my heart… Pause before you judge. ❤️
Because one day, it might be your child on the other side of that look.
