Building, Balancing & Persevering!

Today, the children explored giant Jenga blocks and were challenged to see what they could create. They worked together to build towers and houses, testing different ideas and designs. When their structures collapsed, the children showed resilience by trying again, making adjustments, and eventually succeeding in creating stable constructions.

EYLF Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners – Children developed problem-solving skills, persistence, and creativity as they experimented, learned from challenges, and achieved their goals.

Celebrating and learning together for Vesak at Gumtree Kids 🌼✨

Our children have been enjoying both group and individual learning experiences as they explore the meaning and traditions of Vesak. Through creative activities like making beautiful Vesak koodu lantern art, children are developing their creativity, fine motor skills, and cultural understanding. 🏮🎨

We love seeing their focus, imagination, and joy shine through each creation! 💛

🎸 Music, Movement & Smiles 🎶

Our toddler and kinder children enjoyed a wonderful interactive music incursion with Rochelle! Through guitar music, singing, movement, and hands-on participation, children confidently engaged with others while expressing themselves creatively and joyfully. 💛

This experience supported children in building a strong sense of identity and belonging through shared group experiences.

Some wonderful moments captured during our outdoor gross motor activity time! The children enjoyed balancing, climbing, exploring movement, and working together while building their confidence and coordination.

Our light table turned into a glowing stage for letters today! It was wonderful to watch the children engage with early literacy in such a tactile, sensory way.

By using their personalized name cards as a guide, they became "letter detectives," hunting for the right shapes and arranging them in the perfect order. This playful approach makes learning to recognize and spell their names an exciting adventure rather than a task.

Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators.

Evidence: Children begin to understand how symbols and pattern systems work, specifically focusing on the relationship between letters and sounds in the context of their own names.

Watching our little ones collaborate today was a joy! There is so much more to wooden train tracks than just loops and bridges. As they negotiated where the next piece should go and shared the "cargo," they weren't just playing—they were building a community. Their focused faces and teamwork show just how much they value working together toward a grand design.
