To support the United Nations in Lesotho World Environment Day challenge, WHO Lesotho staff stepped up with an office cleanโup initiative aimed at promoting responsible waste management.
Teams sorted through the office storeroom and library, identifying waste such as paper, plastics, and outdated equipment. Materials were carefully separated, with recyclables like paper, cardboard, and electronics grouped for proper processing.
Unused items were also set aside for reuse, donation, or repurposingโhelping conserve resources and reduce the demand for new production.
This initiative highlights how simple, local actions can make a real impact. By sorting waste into recyclable and nonโrecyclable categories, the team demonstrated that proper waste management reduces landfill pollution and supports a cleaner, healthier environment for all.
