The world is cruel. So I’ll still be kind.

I’ll still check on people, forgive when I can, and treat others gently. Not because I haven’t been hurt, but because I know exactly how it feels to be treated badly.

The world already has enough cruelty in it. I don’t want to become another source of it. If I can make someone’s day a little lighter, make someone feel seen, or simply be someone who doesn’t add to their pain, then I will.

The world is cruel, but I don’t have to be.
