➡Kont taf? Bi kważi 1.3 biljun żagħżugħ u żagħżugħa bejn il-15 u l-24 sena, iż-żgħażagħ tal-lum jiffurmaw l-akbar ġenerazzjoni ta' żgħażagħ li qatt kien hemm.

➡F'dan il-Jum Internazzjonali taż-Żgħażagħ, niċċelebraw it-tema ‘Kuntesti Differenti, Aspirazzjonijiet Komuni’. Għalkemm ir-realtajiet taż-żgħażagħ ivarjaw madwar id-dinja, l-aspirazzjonijiet tagħhom huma simili.

➡Did you know? With nearly 1.3 billion people aged 15–24, today’s youth represent the largest generation of youth to date.

➡This International Youth Day, we celebrate the theme ‘Different Contexts, Common Aspirations’. While young people’s realities differ across the globe, their aspirations are remarkably similar.

➡️In line with previous years, more women than men graduated as undergraduates and postgraduates from the University of Malta, by over 20 percentage points.

➡️Gender segregation across university courses remains significant, with women substantially overrepresented in the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Laws, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Sciences, and Faculty of Social Wellbeing, and strongly underrepresented in the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology.

➡️Similarly, more women than men graduate from MCAST, and a comparable pattern of gender segregation is observed in the fields of study chosen by students.

➡️Gender disparities in Cabinet persist, with women occupying only 20% of positions over the past 3 years, reflecting a lack of progress towards gender balance.

➡️In relation to MEPs, female representation has declined over time, from 33.3% in 2023 to 16.7% in both 2024 and 2025.

➡️Although female representation in local council positions showed a slight improvement between 2023 and 2024, this was followed by a decline in 2025.
