Today marks one year since I established my private counselling practice 😃💚

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has trusted me over the past year. Every story I've been invited into has reminded me why I chose this profession. The courage, honesty and resilience I witness every day are a constant reminder that doing this work is a privilege.

We often admire visible change. New habits, inspirational quotes, new books read, compelling social media gurus, or engaging lessons shared online. But genuine personal growth is rarely measured by what we say we’ve learned. More often, it reveals itself when we ask ourselves the following:

• Do we respond differently to situations that once triggered us?
• Are we taking responsibility for the patterns we repeatedly find ourselves in?
• Can we tolerate discomfort without immediately escaping it?
• Are our relationships becoming healthier, not just different?
• Do the people closest to us experience the changes we claim to have made?

Real growth is usually less about appearing transformed, and more about gradually becoming someone who makes different choices, especially when no one else is watching.

Perhaps the most meaningful question isn’t “What have I learned?” but rather “What am I doing differently because of what I’ve learned?”

My hope is that these articles offer insight, reflection, and practical perspectives that readers can connect with and apply to their own experiences.

Therapeutic endings can often feel bittersweet. Reaching a point where a client feels ready to continue their journey independently is always meaningful.

Feedback like this is a reminder of why I do this work and continues to motivate me every single day. 🤍
