Some places hold memories. Others hold a piece of someone forever. 🤍
A little over two years ago, we got you a small patch of turf and a shallow pool. There wasn't much here then—just a bare space waiting to become something.
And you became the very first person to bring it to life.
I can still imagine your laughter within these walls. You had this beautiful way of finding so much joy in so little. What may have seemed like a simple patch of turf and a little pool to others became a place of happiness through your eyes.
Today, you are no longer here for us to see or hold, but somehow, you still make yourself known.
I see you in the smallest of birds that appear nearby. I think of you when the wind gently moves the daffodils. And sometimes, in the quietest moments, it feels as though you never really left.
So, dearest little one, this is my gift to you—and to all those who love and miss you.
A humble serenity space where our youths can feel safe, slow down and unwind. A place where they can sit together, share a meal, laugh, connect and simply enjoy being together.
And perhaps the most beautiful part is how it came to be.
There was no quick government scheme behind it and no large pot of funding. This space was created through months of work by our youths alongside their support staff. Together, they made handmade products, worked hard, and patiently put aside the profits.
Little by little, their work transformed this space.
A space created through the abilities and efforts of our youths, for our youths. ❤️
And it feels only right that the first person who ever brought laughter and life to this little corner will now forever be part of it.
It may not be grand. It may be private, simple and humble.
But perhaps that is exactly why it feels so right.
Your memory doesn't need something grand.
It just needs a place where laughter continues. Where people come together. Where simple things still bring joy.
Just as they did for you.
Keep watching over us, dearest little one. Keep protecting all those who enter this space, and every now and then, send us one of those little signs that remind us you are still near. 🤍
The James Micallef Serenity Space
Made with love.
Built through the work of our youths.
And dedicated to a little soul whose laughter will forever live within these walls.
Much love,
