As of Sunday 27th of July, the Mtendere Rehabilitation Center team visited Pakaya Initiative to present **Certificates of Participation** to the youth in recognition of their commitment and active involvement in our substance abuse prevention and mental health awareness program.

The certificates serve as a token of appreciation and encouragement for the dedication they have shown in promoting positive change within their community. We are proud of these young leaders and look forward to seeing them continue to inspire their peers to make healthy, informed choices.

Today, the Mtendere Rehabilitation Center team had the privilege of facilitating an engaging discussion on substance use, addiction, and mental health at Innoret.

The session brought together 17 youth representatives from various youth groups, creating a safe and interactive space for learning, sharing experiences, and exchanging ideas. Through a vibrant presentation and open discussion, participants explored the realities of substance use, addiction, and the importance of protecting mental well-being within our communities.

The energy, curiosity, and contributions from the young people made the session both meaningful and inspiring. Together, we are building informed, resilient, and empowered youth who can become champions of positive change.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and made today's discussion a success. We look forward to our next meeting as we continue working together towards healthier, drug-free communities.

Together, we can prevent addiction. Together, we can promote mental wellness and develop a drug free community.

🌿 Mental Health & Substance Abuse Prevention Session 🌿

We were excited to have a Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Addiction Prevention Session at Save the Generation Organisation, attended by 76 students from various schools.

We were honored by the presence of Hiwett Wiseman Mkandawire, Ward Councilor for Zolozolo West, who joined us in engaging youth on issues affecting their well-being, and an expert in community development Mr Vincent Nyoni.

Through an open discussion, we explored young people's knowledge and exposure to mental health challenges, substance abuse, and addiction while encouraging them to make healthy choices and stay away from drugs and harmful substances.

We were greatly impressed by the turnout, participation, and enthusiasm shown by the youth. Together, we continue to raise awareness, promote prevention, and build a healthier future for our communities.

💚 Prevention begins with awareness.

The enthusiasm, openness, and thoughtful contributions from the youth were truly inspiring. Their engagement highlighted the importance of creating safe spaces where young people can learn, ask questions, and openly discuss the challenges they face.

Thanks to the programs officer that organized and arranged the meeting and for a wonderful warm welcome and reception.

As Mtendere Rehabilitation Center, we believe that prevention starts with education, empowerment, and community involvement. Together, we are building informed, resilient, and healthy young people who can make positive choices for their future.

🧠💙 JUNE IS MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH 💙🧠

Men often carry burdens in silence. Stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and substance use can affect anyone, regardless of age, status, or background.

This month, let's break the silence and create a culture where men feel safe to speak, seek help, and support one another.

🚫 Say NO to Addiction and Substance Use
🗣️ Normalize Talking About the Issues Affecting Us Daily
🤝 Seek Support
❤️ Choose Healing
🌱 Choose Recovery

Addiction is not a sign of weakness. Asking for help is a sign of strength.

📌 Men, Let's Talk.
Your story matters.
Your mental health matters.
Your life matters.

Together, we can build healthier families, stronger communities, and a brighter future.

Today, we welcomed visitors from Mchengautuba CDSS, where we established our first Mental Health Club last year.

The club patron, together with the club Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Secretary visited our center to appreciate our services and provide an update on the club’s progress and activities. The club currently has 47 active members. During the visit, the students sought guidance on how best to support peers who are abusing substances.

They also requested the MRC team to attend one of their club meetings to inspire students interested in pursuing various careers in the mental health field.
