🎯 THE RIGHT TREATMENT. THE RIGHT PATIENT.

Ablation and surgery are not competitors—they are treatment options.

🩺 The decision starts with the patient.
📏 The tumour matters.
📍 Anatomy matters.
🎯 The treatment goal matters.

For selected cases, ablation can provide precise, minimally invasive local treatment. For others, surgery remains the preferred approach.

Precision medicine begins when we stop asking, “Which technology?” and start asking, “Which strategy is right for this patient?”

💡 SMALL ACCESS. BIG PRECISION.

In laser ablation, size isn’t the goal — accuracy is. 🎯

A thin optical fiber can deliver concentrated thermal energy directly into a carefully planned treatment zone while helping minimize access trauma.

🩻 Precise placement
🌡️ Controlled energy
📐 Planned treatment volume
🛡️ Consideration of surrounding structures

For complex targets, multiple fibers can work together strategically.

Precision doesn’t always require more. It requires better planning.

HIFU: When Non-Invasive Really Means Non-Invasive 🌊

High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) uses focused acoustic energy to treat a precise target from outside the body — without a needle or incision.

Multiple ultrasound waves pass through tissue and converge at a focal point, where the temperature rises to create a targeted thermal effect.

Unlike percutaneous ablation methods such as MWA, laser or cryoablation, HIFU does not require a probe to enter the target tissue.

However, HIFU is not suitable for every patient. Lesion location, size, tissue characteristics, surrounding structures and the ability to clearly visualize the target all play an important role in treatment planning.

Focused energy. Precise targeting. No surgical access.

Why Cryoablation Can Be Valuable Near Critical Structures ❄️

Precision is not only about treating the tumour — it is also about protecting the surrounding anatomy.

With image-guided cryoablation, the developing ice ball can be monitored during treatment, helping physicians assess its position, treatment coverage and relationship to nearby organs, vessels or nerves.

Careful planning, probe placement and protective techniques may help reduce the risk of injury to surrounding structures.

Target the tumour. Understand the anatomy. Protect what matters.

🎯 THE ABLATION MARGIN

Successful tumor ablation is not only about treating the visible lesion. An adequate ablation margin helps improve target coverage while minimizing injury to surrounding healthy structures.

Across ablation technologies, the principle remains the same: Target accurately. Treat adequately. Protect what matters.

🔥 THE HEAT-SINK EFFECT: Why Blood Flow Matters in Thermal Ablation

Thermal ablation is not only about generating heat — it is also about ensuring that heat reaches the intended treatment zone effectively.

When a tumor is located close to a large blood vessel, flowing blood can carry heat away from the area being treated. This is known as the heat-sink effect, and it may reduce heating near the vessel.

For clinicians, this is an important consideration when planning ablation procedures.

Microwave Ablation (MWA) can provide faster heating, higher intratumoral temperatures, and larger, more predictable ablation zones in appropriate settings compared with radiofrequency ablation. However, no thermal ablation technology completely eliminates the heat-sink effect.

Successful treatment planning therefore involves more than choosing an energy source. Tumour size, tumour location, vessel proximity, ablation zone and safety margins all matter.

🎯 Know the anatomy. Plan the ablation. Precision begins with planning.

Cryoablation for Painful Bone Metastases ❄️🦴

Pain from bone metastases can significantly affect mobility and quality of life.

For selected patients, image-guided cryoablation may help provide both local tumor control and pain relief through targeted freezing of tumor tissue.

With real-time imaging, the treatment zone can be carefully monitored to support precise and focused therapy.

Patient selection is important and should be considered as part of a multidisciplinary treatment plan.

Treat the tumor. Target the pain.

Not every benign thyroid nodule requires surgery.

For selected patients, microwave ablation (MWA) offers an image-guided, minimally invasive option to treat symptomatic thyroid nodules while preserving surrounding thyroid tissue.

With precise ultrasound guidance, the targeted nodule is treated and may gradually reduce in size over time-helping relieve symptoms with less disruption to normal thyroid anatomy.

A modern approach focused on precision, preservation, and patient selection.

A Non-Invasive Approach to Uterine Fibroid Care

High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) offers a non-invasive treatment option for selected patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids.

Using focused ultrasound energy under real-time imaging guidance, HIFU targets fibroid tissue without surgical incisions, needles, or ionizing radiation. This approach may support uterine preservation, shorter recovery, and an earlier return to daily activities.

Careful patient selection remains essential. Fibroid size, location, number, symptoms, and individual reproductive goals should all be considered through multidisciplinary clinical assessment.

Advancing fibroid care through precision, innovation, and patient-centered treatment.
